Chelsea Houska has spoken out for the first on her decision to leave Teen Mom, after she felt "guilty" for sharing so much of her children's lives on air for seven years.
The 31-year-old left the MTV parenting show back in 2015, but at the time shared very little about why she exited the show.
The mother of four has shared that it was the “hugest weight lifted off my shoulders” when she left, after feeling “guilty” for sharing too much of private life on-screen.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Chelsea explained: “There was no plan at all. I fully left Teen Mom thinking that’s probably it. But I was OK with that also.”
While she was certain on the decision, it was still a “scary” one to leave the hit series and figure out what she wanted to do next.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingShe added: “There was times where I’d be so nervous about Teen Mom airing because I’d feel guilty — Did I share too much? Did I share something that should have been kept personal to my kids?”
The former 16 & Pregnant star is set to make her TV return in a new series with her husband Cole DeBoer for HGTV called Down Home Fab.
The series will follow the couple as they renovate their beautiful homes, after they built their dream farmhouse in Sioux Falls a few years ago.
Chelsea shared that it has been a “wild ride” returning to reality TV, after the door closed on Teen Mom.
Reflecting on how guilty she felt on the previous show, Chelsea added: “I just don’t feel that at all [with this show].
“You still do get to see a little bit with the kids, but I feel like it’s very light hearted. I feel so proud of the show and to share the show.”
Chelsea teased a brief synopsis of what fans can expect, as she said: “We can’t wait to take our fans along this next crazy journey of building our business from the ground up, with four kids in tow, showing all of the highs and lows on the renovation site and at home.”
