The Champions League draw is set to take place on Friday

There remains one night of Champions League football remaining before the competition reaches the quarter-final stage.

Four teams are left competing for a spot among the final eight, with two ties to be played on Wednesday evening and no side guaranteed their spot. Atletico Madrid welcome Inter Milan to the Wanda Metropolitano facing a one-goal deficit while honours are even as PSV travel to face Borussia Dortmund.

The business end of the competition is on the horizon as the quarter-final draw awaits however. The route to final will be made clear as the possible semi-final fixtures will also be outlined following the culmination of the last-16 fixtures.

With that said, Mirror Football takes a look at when the draw for the next round will take place, who will be involved and more.

When is the Champions League quarter-final draw?

The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League quarter-final, semi-final and final draws will all take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday 15 March. It is set to begin at 12:00 CET/11am GMT.

Who is left in the draw?

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich have already earned their place among Europe's best eight teams. The remaining two qualifiers will become apparent on Wednesday evening.

What is the format?

As the competition nears its finale, the draw is now open. That means there are no seedings for teams, sides from the same country will be able to be drawn against each other. Teams who competed in the same groups earlier in the competition will also be able to come up against each other.

Eight balls will be placed in a central bowl and shuffled. The first team drawn out will play the first of two legs at home against the second side, and that will be repeated until no balls remain.

For the semi-final draw, balls will contain slips of paper makered 'winners of quarter-final 1' through to 'winners of quarter-final 4'. Like with the quarter-final draw, the first selection pulled out will play their first leg at home.

A draw for the final will then be completed to determine a 'home' team for administrative purposes ahead of the final to be held a Wembley in June.

Where can you watch the Champions League draw?

The draw will be streamed live on UEFA.com. Mirror Football will also be bringing you updates from the draw on Friday.
