Dancing on Ice champion Ryan Thomas may have to get his skates on and name the day to wed fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh.
Soap actor Ryan, 39, tried to circle around the subject after his victory on Sunday evening with partner Amani Fancy. He popped the question to ex-TOWIE star Lucy, 32, in June 2019. Since then they have had a boy, Roman who is three, and a 19-month-old girl named Lilah.
But when the length of their engagement comes up, Ryan said: “Don’t remind her.” He joked he would set a date once they “stop having children” and their brood can walk down the aisle with them. He thinks Lucy may have been dropping hints by wearing white to the rink.
He said: “She turned up in a wedding outfit to DoI and I said, ‘Darling this isn’t your moment.’” He said: “The biggest hero in all of this is Lucy. She gave me the chance to do this, and looking after the children at home is probably a harder job. I am very lucky that she has given me this freedom to be able to do this job.”

The star opened up about plans for a weddingEx-Coronation Street star Ryan also has a 15-year-old daughter Scarlett with his ex-Tina O’Brien. The teenager now stars in Waterloo Road, which former Corrie star Tina also appeared in. Ryan and Lucy met in 2017 taking part on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls. They celebrated their engagement with a huge party.

And Lucy has said she cannot wait to start planning their big day. It comes after Ryan said his fiancée deserves a break after he spent time away for Dancing On Ice. He said in a chat in early February: “I’ll be honest, I’ve been in the house down here and I’m putting Netflix on, having baths. I appreciate this time.
“I said to Lucy: ‘You need to do this sometimes, let me look after the kids, and just have time in the house and not wake up with any kids - it’s amazing.’ She was like: ‘Not right now, Ryan, not right now.’ And I can hear all the kids screaming in the background. It’s chaos with them, but I do love it.”
Speaking about how proud his children were of his, he continued: "Roman started drawing pictures of me at nursery with my skates on, and he’s mentioned a few things. I saw a video of him watching the show and he was just staring. So I think he’s just taking it all in."
