A global news organisation has announced it is reviewing all images issued by the Palace in the ongoing fallout over the Princess of Wales's Mother's Day image.
The family portrait shared by Kate on Sunday prompted a meltdown after close inspection revealed it had been doctored. A kill notice was later issued on Sunday evening by several news agencies which had issued the picture on behalf of the Palace.
Backlash over the image later prompted a rare response from Kate, who released a statement saying: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C."

Analysis of the picture, which was put out as the first full image of Kate since she underwent abdominal surgery, showed several instances of editing.
Metadata later revealed it was tweaked in Adobe Photoshop on Friday and Saturday before being posted on Kensington Palace's official social media platforms with a personal message from the Princess. The post, signed 'C' indicating she had written it personally, said: "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day. C".

A statement on CNN's site following the debacle said it would be following up by reviewing other Palace-issued pictures. The news organisation said: "CNN is now reviewing all handout photos previously provided by Kensington Palace."
The Mirror has contacted the Palace for comment.
