Ashlyn Harris and Sophia Bush made their first Hollywood appearance as a couple on Sunday night.
The One Tree Hill alum and her professional footballer girlfriend were among the star-studded guestlist attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party. Although the couple walked the red carpet separately, they reunited inside the venue.
It was a big night for Elton’s Foundation. The 32nd annual bash, which the Tiny Dancer singer hosted with his husband David Furnish, along with Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and Tiffany Haddish, raised a record-breaking $10.8 million (£8.4 million) for AIDS research.
41-year-old Sophia was glowing in a strapless wine-coloured gown with a thigh-high slit, wearing matching heels and a sparkling choker. Meanwhile, 38-year-old Ashlyn rocked a suit over a sheer shirt, accessorising with stunning sparkling jewels.
Richard 'shuts up' GMB guest who says Hancock 'deserved' being called 'd***head'Sophia and Ashlyn’s relationship has been at the centre of controversy in recent months. After the news broke that they were dating in October last year, less than a week after Ashlyn’s divorce from Ali Krieger was made public, rumours surfaced that the former US goalkeeper had cheated on her ex-wife with her new actress-girlfriend.
Ashlyn tied the knot with her fellow professional baller wife Ali in 2019 but filed for divorce after four years of marriage in September 2023. The couple share daughter, Sloane, 3, and 1-year-old son Ocean together. Following the rumours that Ashlyn had moved on with Sophia, Ali’s brother hinted that Ashlyn had been unfaithful, seeing her become the centre of furious backlash.
Commenting on an Instagram post that Ali dropped on the day of her ex-wife's birthday, her brother Kyle hinted that Ashlyn had cheated on his sister. He wrote: "These hoes ain’t loyal!! But me and your fans are!"
Forced to deny the infidelity, Ashlyn snapped back on social media: "Let me be clear: I did not step out on my marriage. I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy."
The sportswomen went on to explain that she and her ex-wife had been privately working out the details of their separation since the summer. Describing how the leak of the divorce had "devastated" her mental health, she wrote: "We agreed to centre our children, continue therapy, separate and to move forward with our lives." Before adding: "This has been brutal."
