Celebrity Big Brother viewers were left stunned on Sunday's episode following Gary Goldsmith's explosive first elimination of the series on Friday night.
The Princess of Wales' uncle Gary, 59, and Lauren Simon were both up for eviction with the public choosing to vote for who they wanted to keep in the house. Gary had been put up for eviction by Sharon Osbourne, who had given him a killer nomination, whilst the other housemates nominated two people, with Lauren being chosen by them.
On Friday, it was revealed who the public had decided to evict from the Celebrity Big Brother house and Gary was the first contestant to leave. On Sunday's episode, it aired the aftermath as Gary's fellow housemates made their thoughts about his exit very clear.
Louis Walsh didn't hold back as he immediately declared it was the "right decision" and "it's great", adding: "I hammed it up deliberately, I was hamming it up, pretending I was shocked..." Sharon, 71, then said to her fellow housemates: "Do we know what he does, I have no idea... he talks in riddles!" to which Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu replied he likes to party in Ibiza.
This prompted Sharon to remark: "He's a bit old for Ibiza!" the housemates then all tucked into cheese on toast as they toasted to Gary's exit. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers shared their thoughts over the scenes.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingOne person said: "Everyone’s reading Gary DOWN 2 seconds after he just walked out I can’t #CBBUK", another wrote: "The whole house still s******g off Gary after his exit. #CBBUK", a different person said: "Gary gone 0.7 seconds and they’re already s******g him off omg #cbbuk" while another added: "Everyone spending the first 10 minutes of Gary being out the house s******g him off #CBBUK."
Sharon picked Gary to be the first Celebrity Big Brother housemate to face eviction last week. The Celebrity Big Brother lodger appeared on a live feed to all the housemates where she explained her reason for voting for Gary, saying that he doesn't fit in as the only non-celebrity and that the "awkward" contestant isn't "comfortable" in the house.
Speaking to Big Brother, and not knowing Gary and everyone was watching, she said: "The housemate that I nominate is Gary. I don't think he's that comfortable here, I think he's awkward with himself being here too. It's very tough for him; he told me about things.
"He's brave to have come in here. I somehow don't think this is the place for him. He's the oddball. If I went into his world, and suddenly plonked myself in the middle of his boardrooms, I'd feel the same. I think he's insecure too." As they all looked at Gary at the time, he admitted: "To be fair, this isn't my world. I'd go back to normal life."
