Staycation fans can now enjoy an exceptionally cheap pint at a holiday park.
Haven Holidays is launching its first on-site JD Wetherspoon pub. The cheap boozer is swinging open its doors at its Primrose Valley, Yorkshire location at the end of March.
The holiday park has told punters to expect "all the value and range you’ve come to of the iconic British pub company, combined with Haven’s focus on family fun." Haven has released images of what the Spoons will look like when it's ready to go.
The new venue will have seating for more than 250 guests and will sit alongside other outlets at Haven including Slim Chickens, Papa Johns and Burger King also available on park. Haven, which runs 38 parks in the UK and was acquired by Blackstone in 2021, is the first holiday provider to strike an “exclusive agreement” with Wetherspoon.
It comes as part of a £4million investment Haven is making into its food and beverage offerings in 2024. A spokesperson from Wetherspoon told the BBC it is looking to open more pubs in other Haven locations, but did not say which ones. There are currently 830 Spoons in the UK.
Pub giant behind Slug and Lettuce 'to sell 1,000 pubs' in new blow for boozersPeter Blake, chief operating officer at Haven, said: “We are thrilled to be the first holiday provider to partner with one of the UK’s leading and much-loved pub operators. This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday home owners.”
In other holiday park alcohol news, yesterday Butlin's announced that guests will soon be able to drink to their heart's and liver's content thanks to an all-inclusive drinks package.
The holiday park has launched the all-inclusive drinks package for guests on family breaks. The deal includes cocktails, draught beers and ciders, wine, selected spirits, a range of soft drinks and Costa Coffee from ‘Proud to Serve’ venues. It’s available to book from today and will be operational at all three resorts from 15 April on family breaks.
The all inclusive drinks packages will start from £25 per adult and £10 per child per day, with under 5s going free. Families can purchase the new drinks package as a standalone or add it to a dining package. Drinks will be available from a range of venues, bars and restaurants across the three resorts – Bognor Regis, Skegness and Minehead.
The Butlin's app - B-Serve - lists prices at the holiday park's different bars. A bottle of Fontana Trebbiano is the cheapest available at the Bar Rosso and Skyline Stage at Bognor Regis, at £17.50.
