Celebrity Big Brother star David Potts certainly made an entrance when he stepped through the iconic doors earlier this week in a pair of black hot pants and a sequined matching blazer.
But it seems as though the TV personality, 30, who is best known for his stint on Ibiza Weekender, has been suppressing a secret from fans - as he has a twin brother who works in professional football. Matthew Potts, 30, has said that he has to provide "evidence" to confirm David is his brother as people fail to believe him, as the pair could not be more different.
But that has not stopped Matthew being filled with pride at seeing his brother on the main stage, adored by millions of viewers, while mingling with a host of high profile celebrities. In an interview with the Mailonline, he said: "We have gone down two totally different paths. It's a thing for people when they find out who he is... I don't go around shouting about it but when people do find out they are quite shocked and I always have to provide evidence we're related because they don't believe me, which is quite funny."
He added: "We got put in the same outfits and as twins you get put in the same bubble but the reality is – and as we have proven – we're just totally completely different people. He's loud when you first lay eyes on him and the celebrities in the house were quite taken aback by him at first but now, they are getting to know him, well within five minutes your perceptions of him change completely. It's a credit to him, he's great in that sense."
The family's pride over David's TV success comes after he was bullied at school before he bravely came out as being gay. David and Matthew also have an older brother. Until the reality TV star openly spoke about his sexuality he was not able to truly be himself but since then, Matthew explained that David has taught him a lot about the LGBTQ community.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingAt the height of David's bullying ordeal, Matthew candidly said that he too found it difficult to deal with as he couldn't understand why David was being targeted at school. And at times he explained that he thought "what's wrong with him? And there was nothing wrong... nowadays we are in a society that's a lot more open and accepting. "
Knowing his brother, Matthew predicts that David will be overwhelmed at being in the same house as legends including Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, as X Factor was a regular viewing in their household growing up. He then explained that David would love to win the ITV show as it would "mean the world to him" and feels as though he stands every chance at being crowned winner as he has the ability to "resonate" with the public.
