Helldivers fans have been enjoying the recently released sequel, but one of the original game's best Strategems was shockingly absent, but that's about to change very soon.
The success of Helldivers 2 is well documented by this point. But this is especially the case now since players are able to consistently play the game after long wait times have been somewhat ironed out, alongside the dreaded failed to establish network connection bug and a PS5-sepecifc login bug, all being addressed. So naturally it's time to look forward to what's next for Arrowhead Game Studios' bug blasting multiplayer game.
One of the most beloved Strategems in the original Helldivers was the mech, which is notably absent in Helldivers 2 at launch. However, recently, a player reported seeing a mech in-game and posted footage of it to the r/Helldivers Subreddit (which has since been removed by the moderators, but was reposted on Twitter by @Mr_Rebs_) signalling that mechs were coming to the game sooner rather than later. The footage of the mech seemed to show it as a Bipedal tank with guns for arms, making blasting bugs in the name of liberty even easier.
Presumably in retaliation to the Helldivers 2 mech footage floating about, Arrowhead Game Studios posted a Tweet on the Helldivers account saying "HELLDIVERS! The EXO-45 Patriot Exosuits are in full production in the factories of Tien Kwan. Ready for deployment on the battlefield soon!" confirming that Helldivers 2 mechs will be arriving in-game in the near future.
When does the Helldivers 2 mech arrive in-game
Unfortunately, all that Arrowhead Game Studios has said regarding the Helldivers 2 mechs is that they are 'coming soon' which is obviously very vague. Considering that players have already found the Helldivers 2 mechs in the game, it's clear that they are either complete, or very close to being complete. Something that a developer confirmed on the Helldivers 2 Discord is that "Mechs been good to go for a while" but "there's still some additional polishing being done by people who can't assist with server issues".

So if we had to guess, the Helldivers 2 mechs should be arriving in-game within the next few weeks. However, your best bet is to keep checking out the Helldivers 2 Twitter account and Discord channels for when the developers finally confirm exactly when the Helldivers 2 mechs will arrive in-game.
