Celebrity Big Brother fans were saddened to see Blue Shirt Guy's plight

Celebrity Big Brother fans were left utterly heartbroken after spotting an audience member who was continually snubbed by the stars during the launch this evening.

Dubbed "blue shirt guy", the audience member kept putting out his hand for a fist bump as the stars went along the crowd - only to be the last person to miss out every time. After it happened for the fourth time, fans shared clips of the moment on X, with one writing: "Sorry I’d never leave the house again #CBBUK." While another commented: "I came onto Twitter to see exactly this kind of post…how many times has he been left hanging so far???" Another added: "This guy is going to become an overnight meme- it just happened again !"

One fumed: "Blue shirt guy has been ignored 5 times now this is a travesty. Pack this in! #CBBUK." Another asked: "Anyone else just watching now to see if the guy in the audience with the blue shirt gets a high five or not? #CBBUK." A fan commented: "poor guy in the blue shirt been waiting for his fist-bump for a century #CBBUK."

Thankfully, it was a good ending for blue shirt guy as Celebrity Big Brother's own official Twitter page delivered him a fist bump of their own, sharing a video as they wrote: "We got you blue shirt guy #CBBUK."

It's been six years since Celebrity Big Brother graced our TV screens, but the show kicked off with a bang this evening as 12 famous faces stepped into the iconic house. The tension certainly ramped up as the launch aired live for the first time for ITV as hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best welcomed the stars into the fold.

To ensure they secured the best of the best for their very first series, ITV bosses are said to have splurged £2million on the diverse line-up. With throwback names like Louis Walsh and Fern Britton to newer faces like Heartstopper's Bradley Riches and presenter Zeze Millz and then Kate Middleton's uncle, this year's series could prove to be its most dramatic yet.

Last week, the Mirror was invited to a sneak peak tour of the celebrity house and host Will revealed the house has undergone one huge change from last year’s reboot - frosted shower doors. "To give the new housemates some more privacy," he explained. Fair enough!

The house is bright and beautiful with glitzy stars found on the floor throughout the house. Inside the living area the celebrities will find the open plan living space with colourful sofas in a circle – which sets the scene for the new housemates having to do face-to-face nominations. The sofas back onto the kitchen and glitzy dining area, meaning celebrities will find little room for privacy.

Considering this year's line-up, plenty of hot tea looks ready to be spilled and secret gossip shared - and there's one person who certainly won't hold back from dishing the dirt. "Everyone loves Louis and they’ll see him for the fun, big hearted and spirited person that he is in the Big Brother house," a source close to Louis told the Mirror. "But the thing you have to remember about Louis is that he’ll say it how it is and if he’s doesn’t like something, he won’t hold back. He’ll be entertaining and I expect he’ll do really well."

He will be reunited with his former X Factor co-star and long-time pal Sharon Osbourne later this month when the mum-of-three enters the Celebrity Big Brother house as a special guest. While fans will be looking forward to watching some possible antics from the two friends, but both stars will be on their best behaviour if ITV bosses get their way.

Sharon and Louis were famous for their scandalous remarks and actions during their time on The X Factor. But since their last appearance on the show in 2017, ITV has done more to look after the well-being of its stars. Both stars have been given "respect and inclusion" training ahead of making their CBB debuts.

Louis and Sharon - in addition to all 2024 Celebrity Big Brother housemates - have been given training to grasp what counts as proper "use of language and behaviour" before entering the famous house on Monday night. Speaking prior to the standard series of Big Brother kicking off last summer, ITV said: "Housemates are provided with and talked through the Housemate rules, which set out expectations and explain key aspects of life in the Big Brother House."
