The maternal uncle of the Princess of Wales, Gary Goldsmith, is set to court yet more controversy by appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, as ITV reboots the reality show after six years of it being off the air. Widely known as the 'black sheep' of Kate's family, the 58-year-old businessman has long been kept at a distance by the rest of the Middletons, and the royals, but despite this, isn't shy when it comes to voicing his opinions - particularly about Kate's brother-in-law, Prince Harry.

Goldsmith's home, dubiously called 'Maison de bang bang', was once a holiday spot for Prince William and Kate, but is now available for holidaymakers.

Goldsmith - the younger brother of Carole Middleton - eventually dropped the Maison de bang bang moniker in 2017, and after a serious redecoration of his controversial holiday home, listed it as a holiday let for a whopping £20,000 per week, presumably hoping the new name Villa Tesoro de Oro would attract a more sophisticated crowd - with deeper pockets.

Historically, this was where William attempted to learn how to DJ, the businessman has claimed.

Goldsmith hasn't been shy in revealing more insights into the week-long holiday his niece and her then-boyfriend and the future king took, previously taking part in a 16-page interview with Hello Magazine - and a photo shoot in the villa itself.

Goldsmith claimed that the couple took mud baths and William tried his hand at the decks, something he reiterated later in a controversial documentary, saying he gave them "the full Ibiza experience and they've had a really good time. My friend was there who was helping them set up the outdoor DJ and he was teaching William about the beats and how to drop a track."

Kate's uncle also claimed, as reported in Cosmopolitan, that William was taught "the most important thing is to have a shoutout, something to say when you drop a really good track. Apparently, William's go-to was 'The King is in the house!' which I kind of love."

He has also claimed that during the couple's brief break-up in 2007, Kate visited his villa to lick her wounds, during which time she was "very low" and spent a lot of time pacing around the pool making calls - per the Mail.

The Ibiza property may have once played host to the young royals, but after the 2009 visit, they have not been seen at the luxury villa again. After its 2017 refurbishment, Goldsmith installed a silver and gold colour scheme and garish works of art, including a brightly coloured statue of a bulldog and a painting of a woman that features the Louis Vuitton logo repeated across her lips in gold, and miniature handbags dangling from her sunglasses.

Unfortunately, the Mail on Sunday revealed at the time, that "a mural which read 'It's Gary's world, you just live in it'" didn't make the cut in the redesign and was painted over. The newspaper also "uncovered a blog in which Gary defends his original name choice. It reads: 'It's a great name, and better than the other ones I had in mind. I'm not Royal but should be.'"
