Ozzy Osbourne woke in a cell after trying to murder wife Sharon, who is rumoured to be going into the CBB house this year.
Sharon Osbourne has faced her fair share of domestic dramas so if the rumours are true that she is to be a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother, it will be a walk in the park compared to sharing a home with other half, rocker Ozzy.
After ITV aired a trailer for the show, fans were sent into a frenzy trying to work out if there were clues as to who the famous names were. One viewer noticed that one woman is seen carrying a pomeranian dog and instantly connected this to Sharon Osbourne who loves the breed, writing: "If these are hints to the celebs then the dog one... Just saying maybe it's ar Shazza going in and not Louis anymore."
Fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh, who is also thought to be a housemate, is said to have demanded Sharon be a part of the series and bosses apparently made his wish come true. However, according to the Sun because of her high salary demand, she will only appear as a guest for the first few days.
An insider told the paper: "Louis was more than happy with that, and Sharon’s chuffed too as she gets to make a big entrance, cause a bit of havoc and then leave them to it. She and Louis are going to be TV gold together again."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingThe former reality show colleagues were well known for their riotous relationship on X Factor and causing havoc on set. But that’s nothing compared to the volatile marriage she has lived through with husband Ozzy.
Their union has been marred by numerous infidelities, his drug taking and serious illness, but there was one incident which will never leave the media mogul’s mind. Back in 1989, Sharon had just put their young children Aimee, Kelly and Jack to bed at their home in Buckinghamshire, before sitting down to enjoy some reading when an unrecognisable Ozzy wandered into the room.
The pair opened up about the horrifying moment their family was almost irrevocably torn apart by a drugs-crazed Ozzy during a 2020 documentary, titled The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.
"I had no idea who was sat across from me on the sofa but it wasn’t my husband," Sharon explained, recalling the night. "He goes to a stage where he gets that look in his eyes, the shutters were down and I just couldn’t get through to him.
"And he just said, ‘We’ve come to a decision that you’ve got to die’. He was calm - very calm - then suddenly he lunged across at me and just dived on me and started to choke me. He got me down on the ground on top of me and I was feeling for stuff on the table."
Sharon said it was the thought of her kids that kept her going, knowing she couldn’t leave them.: "All I could think of was the kids. 'There's no way I'm leaving my kids.' So it was probably the most frightened that I had ever been. I felt the panic button and I just pressed it and the next thing I know, the cops were there."
Ozzy woke up the next morning in jail and didn’t know why he was there. He said: "All I remember is waking up in Amersham jail and I asked the cop, ‘Why am I here?’ And he says, ‘You want me to read your charge?’ So he read, ‘John Michael Osbourne, you have been arrested for attempted murder'. It’s not exactly one of my greatest achievements."
After the terrifying attack, Ozzy went to treatment for six months and Sharon was left pondering if she could stay with him. She remembers saying to him after: "I don't want the money but if you do this again, either I am going to kill you or you are going to kill me. And do you want that for the kids?"
She did choose to stick it out and this year the pair, who now have five grandchildren, will celebrate 42 years of marriage.
