A family have paid tribute to a "one in a million" mum who was killed at her daughter's home as a man was charged with her murder.

Damian Homer, 50, is accused of murdering Wendy Francis, 61, and attempting to kill her 38-year-old daughter Stacey Hill in Worcester last Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a semi-detached property on Haresfield Close, in the Brickfields area of the city, following the attacks at around 8.30pm. Despite the efforts of medics Wendy could not be saved while her daughter was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

West Mercia Police said the condition of Ms Hill is now stable and she continues to receive medical treatment. Homer, a DJ and support worker, was charged this morning and will appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today.
