As a mother of the bride, the pressure is on to find a fitting outfit for your daughter's big day - but one mum has been slammed for her extremely revealing dress.
The bride shared a snap of the dress her mum plans on wearing to her wedding, and it has left people with mixed opinions as people ask what her mother is trying to prove by wearing it.
The dress in question is a tulled peach ballgown with an extremely low cut neckline, leaving very little to the imagination when it comes to her chest area - and people have accused the mum of trying to steal the attention from her.
She took to Reddit to share her dilemma as she wrote: "My mom sent me this dress she plans to wear to my wedding. My fiancé says it is too bridal, but I am unsure and want others' opinions please," and detailed: "I haven't been to a wedding before so I really am not the best with these kinds of things."
The ballgown, which had silver detailing and embroidery as well as spaghetti straps, a very low V-cut neckline, a corset-style back and finished with a yellow bow has sparked debate. She then also shared a photo of her lacy white bridal dress with a long train and sheer veil.
'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'People claimed the mum's dress was "not appropriate for the occasion" and slammed the decision to want to wear it and upstage her daughter. One Redditor penned: "This dress seems like Mom's trying to prove she still has 'it.' Very attention-grabbing," while a second agreed and said: "How old is your mom? That's more of a dress for a young bride, not a MOB - in my opinion."
Another simply stated: "Boobsie. It's too boobsie," and a third brutally added: "Gravitas and decorum call for a tiny bit more modesty for that age. She needs to realize that it's not her wedding and your wedding is not an excuse to LARP as a twenty-something fairy."
