Caleb Williams, the electric quarterback coming out of USC, has told the Chicago Bears he would love to be their No. 1 pick. And he's confident he'll be chosen first on April 25.

He said at the Scouting Combine: "It's not a thought in my mind. I don't think that I'm not going to be number one. I think I put in all the hard work, all of the time, effort, energy into being that. I don't think of a Plan B. That's kind of how I do things in my life. I don't think of a Plan B, stay on Plan A and then when things don't work out, find a way to make Plan A work."

Williams has already chatted with the Bears this week in Indianapolis. Rookie hopefuls can talk to teams for the first time and show what they can do, and as expected, Chicago was eager to hear from the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Currently, Bears have Justin Fields as their quarterback. Many fans hoped he would be the answer to decades of poor to average quarterback play.

Fields has done well sometimes in his first three years but hasn't always played up to expectations, and he's also been harmed by injuries. Some people think he might be traded so the Bears can play Williams right away.

When asked if Williams felt pressure being a potential No. 1 pick and seen as the solution for Bears fans expecting for a good quarterback, he made it clear by saying: "No. Not at all. I don't compare myself to the other guys that are there or have been there. I think I'm my own player. I tend to like to create history and rewrite history."

Early this week, Williams expressed his joy regarding the prospect of joining the Bears for the first time during the draft process.

William shared: "Speaking about Chicago, they have a talented team, a talented offense and defense. For anyone to be in that situation, I think they'd be excited. I'm not pushing any agenda.

"At the end of the day, the Bears have the last say (holding the draft pick). Regardless of how I feel, I'm not pushing an agenda of, 'Yeah, I want to go. Or no, I don't want to go.' I'm excited for whatever comes."

These statements were made following gossip that Williams might prefer not to play for the Bears but rather his hometown team, the Washington Commanders.
