The Works is axing its loyalty scheme and has given customers a deadline to spend their vouchers.

Shoppers will no longer be able to collect points through the Together Rewards scheme from March 30. At the moment, you get five points for every £1 spent at The Works - with every point worth 1p in return.

The minimum you need to collect to get a voucher is 50 points, which is equal to 50p. If you don’t have the minimum of 50 points between by 23.59pm on March 30, these will disappear forever.

But any vouchers you have built up through the scheme by this date will remain valid until June 29. This means you will have until this date to spend them. The Works confirmed it was scraping Together Rewards in an update on its website and said it won't be accepting any new members.

Gavin Peck, chief executive officer of The Works, said: “After careful consideration, we have decided to end our ‘Together Rewards’ loyalty scheme. This was not an easy decision and we understand this will be disappointing news to our customers that use the scheme, but we have done so in order to maintain fantastic value across our ranges.”

He added: “We remain committed to providing you with excellent value, which is why we are maintaining prices on hundreds of our key lines and will continue to offer great deals such as our 3 for £6 on adult fiction books, 10 for £10 on kid's picture books and 2 for £12 & 3 for £15 on toys, games, art and craft. As a valued customer I would like to thank you for your loyalty to The Works over the years. We will continue to provide you with a fantastic range of affordable products and offers - now and in the future.”

If you need to return something bought using a Together Rewards loyalty voucher, you'll receive a gift card to spend in stores. As well as earning points, Together Rewards members would also receive exclusive offers, gifts and bonus points during promotions. We've rounded up all the best supermarket and high street loyalty schemes - from Tesco Clubcard to Sainsbury's Nectar.
