A 16-year-old has told how “more and more people” kept entering his parents’ home during a party gate-crashed by hundreds of revellers.
The A-level student had intended around 40 friends to round to the house in Worthing, Sussex last Friday while his mum was away on holiday in Portugal. But details of the party were shared on social media and so by 8.30pm the chaos had descended on the street and police needed to be called in with more than 300 teens gathered.
Other residents on Poulters Lane reported cars being attacked and seeing ambulances turning up at the house. And an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries after being assaulted, police confirmed as they appealed for witnesses to contact them.
Images showed hundreds of teenagers outside the house after attending or attempting to enter the party. The boy reportedly said that he looked out of a window and saw the crowds down the street while gate crashers had jumped over neighbours’ gardens to get in.
The boy’s dad, a company director at a tax consultancy firm was at home and he had also tried to get people to leave. The party had initially started well but before long more and more people were knocking on the door.

Police were called to the incident"My sister was answering the door and having to politely ask people who were not on my list to leave. By 8.30pm someone went up to the hallway upstairs and saw from the window that the crowd was going all the way up the road," the boy told the Mail.
"At this point we had to call the police. My dad and I went out to ask people to go home but some had been drinking and a few were quite aggressive. In the end the police turned up with megaphones and forced everyone back.

The boy, who attends a sixth form college in Brighton, claimed that a lot of the troublemakers came from elsewhere. He said how he believes the chaos was caused by news of the party being shared on Snapchat, but added that “something like this has never happened before”.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to reports of a group of around 100 to 200 people causing anti-social behaviour following a party at an address in Poulters Lane, Worthing at 8.30pm on Friday (23 February).
People turned up after news of the party went viral"Officers were quickly on scene and a Section 34 Dispersal Order was authorised, giving officers and designated police staff the power to disperse individuals behaving in an anti-social manner. The party was dispersed, and the area was cleared. Following the incident, police received a report of an 18-year-old man who was assaulted at around 10.30pm in South Street, Tarring.
"As a result of his injuries, he was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect. Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 quoting serial 1474 of 23/02."
