The Only Way Is Essex icon Chloe Brockett has quit the reality series five years after joining the popular show.
She joined the ITVBe programme in 2019 alongside her mum but made the announcement of her departure on Monday morning. Chloe wrote on her Instagram Stories: "I have made the decision to take a step back from Towie, it's been my life since I was 19 and I feel like it's best for me at this point in my life to step away. I'm forever grateful to Towie for giving me the platform they have. Love you all."
It was previously reported the star was suspended from the series after a heated altercation with co-star Roman Hackett. The shocking incident sparked headlines and speculation that she would not feature in the rest of the series, which kicked off in September.
However, setting the record straight, Chloe caught up with OK! magazine at the National Television Awards and said she was returning to the programme after only missing a couple of episodes. She said: "I'm still a cast member, I've been on the show for four years, so yes, I will be there. I missed five days of filming, everyone made out like I was missing the rest of the series but I am in it, so don't worry."
The fiery reality star was alleged to have thrown a drink at her co-star and escalated the row to new heights. At the time, an eyewitness to the incident told The Sun: "Chloe and Roman's row escalated so quickly no one saw it coming. They were arguing then Chloe threw a drink on Roman. He swilled one back and then suddenly she threw three glass tumblers at Roman who was right in front of her. There was glass everywhere, it was so shocking."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingShe was briefly suspended from the show due to her actions. However, it wasn't the first time Chloe got physical with a castmate. Last April, Chloe launched an ice bucket at Ella Rae Wise but ended up accidentally hitting a woman who was injured from the incident.
Chloe was recently asked if she had any regrets about her time on the programme, with the star confidently replying: "Absolutely not, you can't live in the past. That was a couple of months ago and there has been a lot of fun things too. I'm on the show because of who I am and if I started changing, it would be a little bit boring."
