Ensuring your kids are ready for school is no small feat.

There are so many little details to remember, from how many school shirts they'll need, to exactly what they'll want in their pencil case to ensure they're fully equipped. But when one woman decided to get her husband involved in the prep, she soon regretted it after he made a huge blunder, which left other parents "crying with laughter."

She asked her husband to purchase their son some plain black shoes for his PE lessons, and she was left majorly unimpressed with what he came back from his trip with.

Instead of a pair of Plimsolls, her husband had bought a pair of girl's black school shoes from Clarks, with a flower on them, which were lovely, but certainly didn't fit the brief. To vent her disappointment, the mum took to Facebook in 2019 to share a sweary rant about the situation - and fellow parents found it incredibly relatable.

She said: "Not even f***ing joking you. Son starts school in two days. Two b*****ding days. I've organised his school uniform. I've organised those little name stickers that stick to f***ing everything. I've bought a school bag. I bought him a personalised water bottle. I bought him a gym kit bag. I got him his school shoes. And I say to man child... 'Can you please order him the gym shoes please for school?'

Numerous mums commented on the post to say how her words had hit close to home - and amused them.

One said: "Aww doll this is a peach ..... brilliant. Never leave a man in charge of school stuff. Lesson learned." Another replied: "I honestly can't cope. Tell me he at least lied and said they'd sent the wrong ones." "Absolutely crying with laughter," posted someone else, with another penning: "I can't believe that you actually trusted man-child to get this right."
