The daughter of Fred and Rose West has revealed a huge secret she is keeping from her own family - and has shared the details of a letter her mum wrote in prison.
Mae West and her siblings were subject to a litany of horrific sexual and physical assaults by her father during her childhood in the killer couple's home. The notorious husband and wife were later convicted of the combined murders of 12 women at their home in Gloucester between 1967 and 1987, including the death of Mae's sister Heather.
Speaking on the 30th anniversary of her parents' arrest, Mae said she has never told her children about her parent's infamous crimes.

Nonetheless, she insisted that she will never tell her son about them herself, and has simply let him know that her mum dead and that she doesn't speak to her mum.
Fred West died in HMP Birmingham on New Year's Day 1995. Mae also shared that she and her murderer mum are no longer in contact, and told the newspaper: "Me and my mother stopped speaking 16 years ago. We fell out. It was her choice. She wrote me a letter basically telling me ‘It’s best if I leave you to it.’. In other words, she no longer wanted to see me or communicate with me."

In a previous interview with the Daily Mail, Mae has admitted she said worries about people "knowing or discovering who I am". West says that she became agoraphobic following the birth of her youngest son Luke because she was too scared to leave the house in case she was recognised.
"I had my son and stayed at home for far too long - I just didn't go out", she say. "I just hid for eight years. My son's coming up to nine years now and all the old fears are resurfacing", she said.
Mae also says that one of her grown daughters discovered her family history after she found out her uncle's old surname on a bank card.She also believes her connection to the shocking murders has affected her family and has left surviving siblings 'stigmatised'.
She claims that she was refused a visa to live in Australia because of her family history, and also alleged that her husband was refused a job in the police for the same reason.
