Arrowhead has been rolling out the Helldivers 2 patches at a rate of knots, and while it fixed the biggest bugbears – AFK players stopping people logging in, and the stuck defrosting bug – PS5 players were even worse off after yesterday's update.
The first Helldivers 2 update of the week went live on Tuesday with patch 1.000.10 that was aimed at tackling matchmaking issues that have been plaguing players on PC. It came with the caveat that "no single update will solve all the issues" with more patches promised to roll out after the fact.
That brings us to update 1.000.11 for PC and PS5 which dropped yesterday (full patch notes below) and was set to "address AFK players, stability and crashes, and continued backend performance improvements," as the game's Twitter account summed up.
Unfortunately, this somehow caused an even bigger issue for PS5 players who were unable to login. Over on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, community manager Thomas Petersson said that the studio was aware that it was "currently experiencing a nasty PS5 login bug," adding that the devs were on the case and would update players asap.
And true to his word, news on the Helldivers 2 PS5 update came this afternoon, with Petersson saying, "The PS5 login bug should hopefully be squished." Helldivers 2 PS5 players are advised to reboot their console and that should sort it out.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingIn the meantime, here are the full Helldivers 2 patch notes from yesterdays update 1.000.11 for PC and PS5.
Continuous improvement on client > backend communications.
These are issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed.
Paired with the Helldivers 2 PS5 update today, that should resolve the most glaring issues in the game so far, but Arrowhead is keen to keep on top of bugs as they arise, which is thematically on point and we're here for it.
