It could take years before Prince Harry is welcomed back into the royal fold, an expert has said.
The Duke of Sussex and the Duchess, his wife Meghan Markle, left the firm in 2020. There have been fall-outs ever since, including the couple's explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, followed by Harry's bombshell book Spare last year.
Now Newsweek's chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston, told Royal Report listeners, that the reconciliation will be a long and drawn out process, as Harry must prove he can earn back his family's trust.

It comes after his explosive memoir Spare sent shockwaves through the royal family last year with Harry's revelations. Jack said: "Charles and William, I'm sure, will view Harry as having persistently betrayed them on multiple occasions over several years, including during times of grief, such as when Prince Philip died or when the Queen died.
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'"So obviously, they're not going to just completely forget about all of that straight away and go from open warfare one minute to innate implicit trust the next..."He added: "But none of that means that Harry's olive branch is an error or a mistake."
Perhaps a royal reunion is not off the cards after all as another royal expert has given insight into just how close King Charles and Prince Harry are. Prince Charles was an 'indulgent father' and grew 'especially close to Prince Harry' - according to royal author Ingrid Seward.
She has given extraordinary insight into the relationship between the monarch and his 'darling boy' youngest son Harry. In a chat with GB News, she told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster about their relationship. She said: "I think Charles was very, very close to his children, especially Harry actually, because William was very much wanting to be with Mummy.
"But Harry loved doing things with Charles. He loved going into the gardens at Highgrove and learning about plants. And he loved the military, loved horses. And as soon as he was able to, Charles would take him on little trips he could do with him.
She added: "On one occasion Harry even went dressed up in sort of miitary uniforms. " It comes as the Mirror revealed Prince Harry plans to 'spend more time' in England following dad King Charles' cancer diagnosis - and Meghan has given her blessing.
The father-of-two was pictured as he touched down in London from California where he now lives with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
It comes as Harry hopes to put the rift between his brother Prince William behind him and be a support to William as he takes on more responsibility while King Charles undergoes treatment.
On Monday, February 5, Charles told the world he had been diagnosed with cancer. In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, it said after undergoing tests that "a form of cancer" was found. His Majesty did not immediately specify which type of cancer it is.
The statement read: "During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer." With the news that the King is currently being treated for a form of cancer, his forthcoming public engagements will have to be rearranged or postponed."
Harry has since been in Canada for the One Year To Go celebrations for the Invictus Games. Sources say he would be ready to return to the UK if called upon to support the family through their health woes.
