It goes without saying that it is certainly not easy to find a mattress to suit your needs when there are so many things to consider. We have been scanning top brands for the best in foam, firm, pocket sprung or hybrid mattress types- but the most important thing is of course... it's got to be comfortable!
Hypnia seems to be the go to place for a new mattress with hefty discounts at the minute. While on our hunt for a new mattress, Hypnia kindly offered us to trial the Supreme Kingsize which is currently on offer- and it's been a great new addition to our bedroom.
The one thing that my partner and I looked for when trying to find the perfect mattress was really just the obvious- comfortable and supportive- and that's pretty much what we found in the Kingsize Supreme Hypnia Mattress.

The Memory foam and built in topper adds a soft feeling but you get the supportive feeling from the springs and honeycomb layers. The mattress also boasts a breathable fabric and a handy latex layer to reduce the sweaty nights.
One thing we were really impressed with is that, we thought it may be difficult to find a mattress to suit us both, with my husband being a front sleeper and I am a side sleeper but, the Supreme Hypnia Mattress has been incredible for us both.

A couple of cons...
It's worth noting the mattress arrives vacuum packed and recommends you wait 24-48 hours with it unrolled lying flat for it to fully unfurl and air. For us finding somewhere in the house to lie flat another large mattress was a bit of a squeeze since we couldn’t get rid of our current mattress until this one was ready to be used.
Also, one thing that really did take us by suprise was the 'gassing' of the new mattress. ThThe less than pleasant new mattress smell was so strong and lasted longer than we thought it would. We did however, find some useful tips online to help air it out, including sprinkling it with baking soda and leaving it overnight to naturally absorb the smells and then vacuum up the next day.
The mattress was a lot deeper in real life than we realised so I would recommend reading the dimensions before you order or maybe testing out any mattress brand in a showroom of similar height so you can see if it’s for you or not. I am less than 5ft and although it makes me feel like a princess when I am in the bed being so high up, I do need to do a bit of a hurdle to get up there! Even my husband who is 6ft 3 commented on it being pretty high.
As a result of the depth our current standard fitted kingsize bed sheets and mattress protector do not fit. You can however purchase sheets and mattress protectors made the measure from the H ypnia website or you can shop around for ‘extra deep’ bed sheets like this set I found at Marks & Spencers.
