Maisie Smith and Max George have teased fans with a series of romantic photos and videos that left many convinced they have become engaged.
The 22-year-old former EastEnders actress and the 35-year-old The Wanted singer Max have been dating since 2022 - having first met on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 when they were both contestants on the show. They are currently enjoying a winter break in the sunny Middle Eastern city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
On Wednesday, the pair joined billions of couples around the world to mark Valentine’s Day - enjoying a romantic outdoor meal together. Both Maisie and Max shared highlights of their night via their Instagram pages - with Max handing a single red rose to his younger lover.
Snaps showed them smiling together at a table for two - while video clips showed them being entertained by a musician. The pair made gushing tributes to each other as they shared their collection of snaps and videos online.
Maisie shared hers, writing: "Season of [love]," using a string of love-related emojis. Max shared a similar collection of snaps and videos, adding his own caption, stating: "Happy Valentines Day my beautiful girl…. Love you to the moon and back."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessThe romantic scenes left many of Maisie and Max's fans convinced a proposal was on the cards. One fan wrote in the comments: "Aw thought you were going to propose in such a romantic setting." Another agreed, writing: "this is the perfect proposal setting my hopes would of been right up lol."
Another fan typed: "Poor girl, she saw that and MUST of thought you were going to propose... what a beautiful way to spend valentines though." And another gushed: "You guys are perfect.. couple goals."
Last year, Max left his fans and Maisie herself flustered when he got down on one knee to propose to her - only for it to be a prank. He appeared on The Chase Celebrity Special where he appeared to propose.
He later opened up about the incident on Iain Stirling recently cancelled late night game show CelebAbility. Addressing the moment, Iain, 36, said: "The last time you were on a game show, you proposed to your girlfriend Maisie. Why did you do that? I thought it was real. You were on The Chase?"
Max admitted: "Yeah, right... It was a spur-of-the-moment thing. And, it was a joke, so..." Iain interrupted to say: "Do you know what girlfriend's love? When their partner proposes to them as a joke."
Max explained: "No but it was like one of them things where Brad [Bradley Walsh] has said: 'so when's the big day?' and then everyone laughed. And I said: 'well it's funny you ask' and put my hand in my back pocket, like that, and Maisie went all sort of giddy. Off camera she shook her head, like that [awkwardly], so I'm glad it wasn't real."
