Adam Collard has opened up about a terrifying ordeal which meant that he was unable to go back to his own home due to the fact his 'stalker' was following him.
The Love Island star, 28, who first shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show back in 2018, has gained a huge following and fanbase since - but not all the attention has been positive. The Newcastle native has faced hardship as some fans continue to take their admiration for the star too far after he confessed that he has more than one stalker.
The TV star's admirers have gone so far as finding out what gym he works out in and have sent gifts to his workplace. Although Adam is sometimes flattered by his fans actions, he has admitted that sometimes things go way too far for him.
"There's been a couple of things that have been sent to the gym. They Google my gym and send weird stuff there. There's been a few letters and then a couple of little presents, daft Valentine's stuff. It's not anything sinister," he told.
While Adam can laugh off the small gifts being sent to him, he insisted that he will not stand for being followed after a terrifying recent ordeal with his girlfriend, Laura Woods. Adam explained that he and Laura had hopped out of an Uber and were making their way back to his place when he discovered that someone was following them.
Jamie O'Hara speaks for Football Manager fans after Laura Woods' brutal put downAdam told luckyblock.com: "I've had people come to my house or my girlfriend's house. Just last week we walked past our own house on purpose because we knew people were watching us - and we’re nobodies in comparison to actual celebrities.
“You've got to take the rough with the smooth to some extent. Obviously there's certain things that are a little bit sinister {with fame}, but the negatives of social media - when you compare them to the opportunities that most people get, I can't really complain.”
Adam and Laura have been dating since September - and things seem to be going very well for the pair. Adam recently opened up about his approach to relationships, telling OnlyAccounts.com: “I’m protective, whether it's Laura, or my family, my friends. I want to get married. I want to have kids as well. I've always thought, what type of person will I be? How can I protect my kids?
“Obviously I've never had a kid, but I don't think I'll be plastering it all over [social media]. I want them to have a fair fight and a chance not to be judged straight away. As long as my really close circle knows exactly who I am, I don't care. I think you have to take everything with a pinch of salt.”
