Super Bowl LVIII was affected by streakers running onto the field as the spirit of Las Vegas took hold - and one man claimed it was worth the $42,000 spent on the ticket.
On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs secured a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers to clinch a third Super Bowl win in five years. Patrick Mahomes starred, throwing for 333 yards and two touchdowns as he was named Super Bowl MVP for the third time in his illustrious career.
Midway through the Big Game, two attendees at Allegiant Stadium were arrested for streaking as the game was momentarily paused while they rushed the field. Alex Gonzalez was one of the two streakers, and he insisted the experience was totally worth it even after being released from county jail.

The day before Super Bowl Sunday, Gonazlez was at the UFC Fight Night event in Sin City at the Apex. He discussed his plan to place a prop bet for a fan to run onto the field during the Super Bowl with many, including Dr. Phil and the Nelk Boys. UFC boss Dana White may even have been aware, as the pair gambled together.
Joe Burrow backs Patrick Mahomes after Kansas City Chiefs reach Super BowlBut on Sunday, Gonzalez - a day trader with an impressive social media following of over 445,000 Instagram followers - realised his plan was thwarted after splashing $42,000 on front-row tickets. There was no prop bet for a fan to run on the field, so it appeared he had spent the money for nothing.
Regardless, he committed to streaking. Speaking to TMZ, Gonzalez said: "I'm like, 'Damn. I am in too deep at this point where I can't back out anymore'."
Gonzalez and his friend arrived at Allegiant Stadium to scout out the scene, entering the home of the Las Vegas Raiders to figure out their plan. When the third quarter came, Gonzalez jumped onto the field shirtless with his social handle and the hashtag ‘Set and Forget’ written on his chest.
Gonzalez was apprehended after a few seconds and eventually led to a holding cell in the back of the new stadium. He spent the night held by authorities but was released the next morning and is now facing trespassing changes at minimum.
On Instagram, though, Gonzalez appeared to savour the experience with no regrets. He wrote: "Being rich is living life on your own terms, according to your possibilities not your limitations. So why not do something no one has the courage to do, I spent $42,000 to live an experience not only that I’ll never forget, but share with the world how #setandforget has changed my life. From Dunkin’ Donuts to #1 on the news nation wide.
"The point of life is to live it… and let me tell you I’m living it. That feeling running through that field is the ultimate adrenaline feeling. Taking #setandforget to whole different level.
"Oh and btw (by the way) that saying that goes 'everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas' - yeah that’s a myth."
