Netflix has announced the release date for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming series, The Gentlemen. The hotly anticipated crime-comedy is based on Ritchie’s 2020 film of the same name and will centre on a host of new characters and follow a brand-new, original storyline.
The Gentlemen will centre on Eddie Horniman – the estranged son of an English aristocrat – as he inherits his father’s sizeable estate only to discover it’s part of a cannabis empire. Eddie is determined to free his family from the clutches of a host of shady characters from the criminal underworld who are all vying for a piece of the action.
To do this, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game, but as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he soon develops a taste for it. The series boasts a stacked ensemble cast led by The White Lotus star Theo James as Eddie, the Duke of Halstead.

He stars alongside Ray Winstone, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Peter Serafinowicz and Breaking Bad villain Giancarlo Esposito. On Monday, (February 12), Netflix announced The Gentlemen will premiere on Thursday, March 7, with all episodes available from launch.

It will be available to watch with a Netflix subscription, which is currently included in a bundle from Sky that also includes Sky TV, Sky Stream and Superfast broadband for £39 a month. Netflix is also included with Virgin Media’s packed Mega Volt bundle that also includes more than 230 TV channels – including Sky Cinema and Sky Sports – an O2 sim with unlimited 5G data and superfast fibre broadband with 516Mbps average download speed. Members can also claim Disney+ or Amazon Prime free for six months as their inclusive O2 extra.

They include James’ suave and suited Eddie alongside the tagline “fresh heir” and former footballer Jones as a tea-drinking tough guy with the tagline “trouble’s brewing.”
Ritchie directs the opening two episodes of the series while serving as executive producer and co-writer alongside Peaky Blinders’ Matthew Read. Speaking to Netflix in November, Ritchie said: “The world of The Gentlemen is a little bit of me.
