Bobbie Jean Carter's cause of death has been revealed.
Sources have divulged that the 41-year-old passed away from the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine to TMZ. She died last December in Florida and left behind an eight-year-old daughter, Bella.
Her death came a year after her younger brother, Aaron Carter, died. The former child star was found in his bathtub after drowning from being under the influence of Xanax and difluoroethane.
The Carter family lost another sibling, Leslie, who passed away in 2012 after an overdose. Bobbie Jean, Aaron, and Leslie all struggled with addiction throughout their lives.

Out of the original five siblings, Nick and Angel Carter are the only two still alive. Nick is known as a member of the Backstreet Boys and Angel is a mental health advocate who keeps her twin brother Aaron's memory alive.
Nick shared a tribute to Bobbie Jean on Instagram that read: "It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean. I am completely heartbroken. Thank you for all your love and kind words. We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ."
Angel had her own tribute that she posted online which read: "Life wasn’t fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn’t have a shot, no matter what."
She added: "I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life."
Bobbie Jean's death was announced by her mother, June Carter. June told TMZ: "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."
She added: ""[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight year old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."
Before Aaron's passing, Bobbie Jean was his wardrobe stylist. She also appeared on the family's reality show, House of Carter.
