The Body Shop has today collapsed into administration in another blow for the UK high street.

The British high street retailer announced that it had taken on FRP Advisory as administrators to "accelerate restructuring" of the chain's UK business. The administrators said it would now consider "all options to find a way forward for the business".

The Body Shop will continue to trade as normal both online and in stores during the administration process. In a statement, FRP Advisory said: "Taking this approach provides the stability, flexibility and security to find the best means of securing the future of The Body Shop and revitalising this iconic British brand."

The Body Shop has around 200 stores and more than 2,000 workers. The administrators said it would update its creditors, employees, and customers on the process going forward.
