Ted fans have hailed the new series as “even better than the films” and called for a second season of the prequel. The brand-new comedy series sees the titular foul-mouthed bear starring in his own series more than a decade since his big screen debut.

Available to binge watch now on Sky, Ted follows the younger days of the talking teddy and his best friend John, serving as a prequel to the 2012 Mark Wahlberg film. The series takes place in 1993, after Ted’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed and he’s back home living in Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), and his family.

It is the latest project from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who serves as co-showrunner and co-writer and has directed every episode. Speaking ahead of the show’s launch, he said the series should “evoke the tone and the personality” of the films while still feeling “very new.”
