The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl for the second year in a row on Sunday by using a play they call 'Corn Dog'.

The Chiefs managed to turn around a 10-point deficit to beat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. Patrick Mahomes led a crucial drive down the field and when they were just four yards away from victory, head coach Andy Reid called for 'Corn Dog'.

This is the same move that helped them win against the Philadelphia Eagles last year, with receivers Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore scoring. In this play, the wide receiver starts on the outside, moves back towards the quarterback, then returns to their original spot when the ball is snapped. This aims to confuse the defensive backs.

On this game-changing play, 'Corn Dog' was used to find Mecole Hardman open for the win. Mahomes told CBS Sports: "It was a great play call. It is a similar call to Corn Dog. We ran it to Mecole Hardman, who has battled through adversity all year man."

Just last week, Reid revealed the name of the play to NBC, saying: "I'm going to give you a name for it. It's called Corn Dog... There's nothing better than a good Corn Dog with some mustard and ketchup."

Reid loves his cheeseburgers and corn dogs, often talking about his favourite snacks on podcasts and to the press. The 'Corn Dog' play has been used for different wide receivers over the last two years, and this time Hardman caught it in overtime.

Hardman had a tough year before the Super Bowl, starting off with the New York Jets after leaving the Chiefs. But he didn't do well and ended up being traded back to the Chiefs. Even then, he kept making mistakes like dropping the ball and fumbling.

But he made up for all that by catching the 'Corn Dog' pass, a moment that will always be remembered. Mahomes said: "The whole game was just a microcosm of our entire season. The defence kept us in there, with the offence making plays when it counted.

"I'm just so proud of the guys. I know we're going to celebrate tonight, but we're not done. We've got a young team and we're going to keep this thing going."

Travis Kelce added: "We've been fighting for this all year. The goal has always been to get three (in a row) but you can't do it without getting two and we've had a target on our back all year. We get a chance to do it all again next year. I'll see you there."
