Travis Kelce refused to say he wants to be part of the Kansas City Chiefs attempting to claim a third straight championship after winning the Super Bowl again.

Kelce mentioned the prospect of a three-peat on stage after beating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. But he was far less committal speaking to the media afterwards, insisting he only wanted to focus on celebrating their latest win.

"Man, I'll tell you what," he said. "I'm going to go ahead and enjoy this one and everything that just happened.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I've been able to go through three times now. And, man, it gets sweeter and sweeter every time, baby."

Kelce instead indicated he is well aware he's now at the latter stages of his career. He indicated how that has shifted his focus somewhat away from individual accolades and made him appreciate the value of team success.

Asked if he now feels he is the greatest tight end of all time, he said: "I know this is one of the greatest teams of all time,. To go back to back, that's another tier of team.

"All the individual accolades, I don't necessarily not care about them because I do love the legacy and want to be as great as I possibly can.

"At this point in my career I just enjoy this feeling, because I know I'm closer to not playing than I am going to keep playing like this, if you understand what I'm saying.

"I just cherish every single moment because I love these guys and want to fight for them every single time I go out on the field."

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback, was also asked about future plans. At 28, he's six years younger than Kelce and isn't thinking about retirement yet. Instead, he's focused on whether he can match Tom Brady's impressive record of six Super Bowl wins.

"I mean, I'm gonna celebrate tonight," Mahomes said. "I'm gonna celebrate at the parade. And then I'm gonna do whatever I can to be back in this game next year and try to go for that three-peat."

"So, it's ongoing thing in the NFL, I think Tom [Brady] said it best once you win that championship and you have those parades and you get those rings, you're not the champion anymore. You have to come back with that same mentality, and I learned from guys like that, that have been the greatest of all time at the top of the level and so that's my mindset,"

"I'm gonna celebrate with my guys because of how we've done this but then we're gonna work our way to get back to this game next year."
