Love Island's Georgia Steel has been accused by fans of 'playing a part' on the popular reality series, following revelations about her past acting gigs.

The 25 year old brunette bombshell, first caught viewers attention when she was on the ITV show's fourth season in 2018, and has since been in the public eye thanks to appearances on Celebs Go Dating, Celebs on the Ranch and Ex on the Beach, among others.

However, it's come to light that Georgia actually made her TV debut quite a bit earlier at age 15, on the CBBC sitcom All at Sea where she played the character Amanda Bryce. Vintage clips shared online showed Georgia as a teenager, chatting about love and romance with a co-star, which seems like an early hint of what would become an important part of her career.

In one scene from the show, Georgia can be heard saying: "It's amazing you know, we've only been going out for two weeks. It feels like years." And after a somewhat mumbled response from her friend, she adds: "When it's right, it's right you know? Sorry, of course you don't."

When this old footage found its way onto Facebook, some fans started speculating that Georgia might still occasionally switch into 'acting mode' while in Love Island's South African villa. One user commented: "I knew she was good at acting," while another quipped: "She's still in character."

A fan teased: "Even then you can see the loyalty ripped out of her" - referring to Georgia constantly calling herself "loyal" in the villa back in 2018. Earlier this week, Georgia's family in England revealed that she has received "vile threats" on social media.

Georgia's relatives, who are in charge of her social media accounts while she is on the show, called these trolls cruel and shared a statement on Instagram last Monday. They said: " Love Island is an amazing TV show and we have loved watching this series as much as anyone else."

They also conveyed their concern and dismay over the hateful comments, stating, "The last few episodes have been difficult for us to watch, but what's far worse is the hate Georgia is receiving online. Please remember it's not real life! Trolling is not OK."

Her family also spoke against the impact of these hurtful words, expressing, "Georgia is a daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend and these hurtful comments will not only devastate her when she leaves the villa, but have deeply hurt those around her. For the messages of love, support and kindness we see you and we thank you!"

Love Island: All Stars is shown every Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
