Johnny Carter is heading back to EastEnders to help his mum Linda Carter - but will be played by a brand new face.
Charlie Suff is taking over the role of Johnny Carter on the BBC soap, as he makes a return to Walford. The role was previously taken on by Sam Strike from 2013 to 2014 and Ted Reilly from 2016 to 2018 but now Charlie is stepping into Johnny's shoes.
Speaking about the upcoming scenes, Charlie revealed: "Johnny is back in Walford because he has caught wind from his Gran that things aren’t going too well for Linda. There’s a lot of worry about his mum, and the family needs Johnny back home to steer the ship and get things back on track. There is a lot going on! He is absolutely devastated.

Johnny spends his initial time in the Square really trying to grapple with what is going on with Linda because a lot has happened to her since he was last there."
However, things get even more difficult for Johnny when he realises Dean Wicks is back.

"He is shocked and totally furious. In his world, up in Manchester, he’d put the Dean situation behind him and thought that was all over. I don’t think he expects Linda to still have to be dealing with Dean and for the situation to still be unfolding. He’ll do anything to protect his mum, particularly from Dean," he explained of the dramatic scenes set to unfold.
What else has Charlie been in?
Charlie Suff has previously starred in the likes of Grantchester and Grace, two ITV dramas, whilst he has also had parts in two short films called The Other Soul to Evie and Never Has A Man.
EastEnders will mark Charlie's first appearance in a soap. Speaking about the welcome he's received since joining the cast, he added: "The warmest. It has been such a joy immediately. Everyone is so fun, friendly and brilliant at what they do. I felt totally swept up into the family straight away, and I felt so comfortable with everyone. I am loving it."
Teasing what's coming up for his character, he added: "I would say that there are a lot of people whom Johnny hasn’t seen for a long time – some he’s very happy to see, and some he isn’t. I think Johnny is coming back with a bang, wanting to show the people of Walford that he’s all grown up and not to be messed with."
