Loose Women star Denise Welch has defiantly defended Prince Harry following his recent visit to London.

Prince Harry, 39, rushed back to the UK from LA after hearing the news of his father, King Charles' cancer diagnosis. The announcement on Monday, which revealed that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer, has come as a shock to many in Britain, largely because the 75-year-old monarch has generally enjoyed good health through the years.

Palace officials have not specified what kind of cancer the King has, or how serious his condition is. It was only announced that the mass was discovered during the King’s recent hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate, but the type of cancer he has is not prostate cancer. Charles — who came to the throne after his mother Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022 — has started a schedule of regular treatments and will postpone public-facing duties.

Prince Harry arrived back to the UK earlier this week to visit his father, but has faced harsh criticism since following reports he spent only "30 minutes" with his father, then leaving to stay in a luxury hotel before his flight back to the US. After Harry was slammed by thousands of royal fans following the coverage of his visit, Loose Women star Denise, 65, has jumped to his defence.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Denise replied to report which claimed Harry was snubbed by his friends in London. The report read: "Why could none of Prince Harry's old mates put him up during his visit to the UK where he stayed in a 'luxury hotel?'"

In response to the question, Denise insisted: "Probably because he's a grown up and would much rather stay in a lovely hotel with room service than have to stay up talking to friends saying thank you all night."

Denise's followers agreed with the Loose Women star as one replied: "I'm not a wealthy prince, but I HATE staying other people's houses. It's always a hotel for me, unless there's really no other option. For balance, I also hate having people stay at my house."

Another shared: "I agree, I would prefer to have my own privacy at a hotel room . Years ago my husband and I were invited to stay with family out of town visiting and we opted to pay for a hotel for 3 nights to be able to have our own space. Also, I am not a wealthy price."

"I agree. In the past when I visited my hometown a cousin always kept a room for me aft her death it’s a hotel for me even though I have family that would put me up," someone else added.

Harry's wife Meghan Markle stayed in Montecito, California, with their two children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - while Harry visited his father. Harry has now returned to Los Angeles after spending 24 hours in the UK after rushing to be reunited the King.
