Eurovision Song Contest's Olly Alexander teases details of song

The UK representative of the Eurovision Song Contest has revealed details of the song that he believes is a contender to win the international competition.

Olly Alexander, 33, who is set to perform his track Dizzy on the main stage in May this year, took to social media to reveal the release date of the song. He also posted a clip of him singing the song. In one post he wrote: "Dizzy – My brand new single is coming March 1st !! I actually can’t wait to perform this on the Eurovision stage.” He then posted a clip of him singing the song which was co-written by producer Danny L Harle, as he's dressed in a pin-striped outfit, wearing an eye-catching orange and brown broach.

The lyrics to the track include “Won’t you make me dizzy for your kisses” and “Will you take my hand and steer me.” In the clip he told fans: "Hello! here’s the first tease of my @‌eurovision song ‘dizzy’.” Olly Alexander is a Bafta-nominated actor's and his selection to represent the UK in the singing competition was announced on the Strictly Come Dancing final.

Over a span of ten years Olly has achieved five top 10 UK singles and two number one albums with his band, Years and Years. He also starred in a number of TV programmes including the seventh series of teen drama, Skins, and Channel 4’s It’s A Sin, which saw him receive a Bafta nomination for his role as Ritchie Tozer.

Last year, Mae Muller represented the UK, and the show was held in Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena but she came second to last with the track, I Wrote A Song. However, it looks as though Mae has now sought a completely different path to singing - as she made her acting debut in British gangland film titled, Gassed Up.

The film, which also stars social media influencer Yung Filly, is centered on a moped street-gang. The head of the gang uses his ill-gotten gains to support his struggling family but feels conflicted over the moral complexities. But things soon take a dark turn when a jewellery heist attracts the attention of an Albanian crime family. Mae re-posted the trailer by the production company and fans were left excited with her new career choice. One fan said: " Let's gooooo! Love it Mae." Another wrote: "Girrl let's go!" And a third added: "I wanna meet Kelly."

Mae is no stranger to the entertainment industry as she starred in singer Mika's music video Grace Kelly. In 2007, Mae was only nine years old and some may remember her sat on top of the piano in a lime green dress, as Mika belted out his breakthrough single. Speaking of how she landed the role in the music video on Never Mind The Buzzcocks last year, she said: "I actually got it based on how [messed] up my teeth were, apparently. I guess they saw all the auditions and he went, 'She's got some real intense teeth. That's good, we like that'."
