NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has praised pop star Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.

The 34-year-old pop star has attended 11 Chiefs games on their way to Super Bowl LVIII, where they will face the San Francisco 49ers to retain their crown. Some fans have criticised Swift for dominating the NFL spotlight, but Goodell is happy to have her around.

"Having the Taylor Swift effect is also a positive," said Goodell, according to TMZ. "Listen, both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people. They seem very happy. She knows great entertainment, and I think that's why I think she loves NFL football."

Conspiracies have been swirling about Swift and Kelce's relationship being fake or scripted - something the NFL has also been accused of. Goodell laughed off these claims, saying: "I don't think I'm that good of a scripter - or anybody on our staff."

Swift, who has won 13 Grammy Awards, is currently touring in Asia but is expected to return from Tokyo in time for the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Kelce has been trying to stay focused on the upcoming game against the 49ers, despite being bombarded with questions about his famous girlfriend.

"She's unbelievable. She's rewriting the history books herself. I told her I'd have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware, too," Kelce said. ]

The tight end added: "Taylor has an unbelievable fan base that follows her and supports her throughout her life. It's been fun to kind of gather the Swifties into Chiefs Kingdom and open them up to the football world and the sports world."

Goodell and the NFL will be chuffed to find out that Swift is having a good time at football games. "She seems to be enjoying the games," confirmed Kelce. "She's a part of Chiefs Kingdom right now. It's fun to see her enjoy the game of football knowing that it's kind of new to her life."

A win at Super Bowl LVIII would constitute Kelce's third victory in the big game in the last five seasons. Questions are swirling around Kelce and his older brother Jason, a legendary player for the Philadelphia Eagles, about their future in the NFL next season.

Kelce, the star player from Chiefs, vows to play until "the wheels fall off" Meanwhile, Jason acknowledges it'll be tough leaving the sport in the offseason despite recent gossip that hinted he was ready to retire.
