The brother of a murdered gangster with "more enemies than Vladimir Putin" and a retired footballer have been charged over an alleged attack on a taxi driver.

The cabbie was allegedly threatened with a knife after he picked up a group of men from a pub in West Lothian, Scotland - his last call of the night on January 25. Weeks earlier, one of the accused's sibling Marc Webley was shot dead outside Edinburgh's Anchor Bar.

The driver - who wished to remain anonymous - claims he fled his taxi and hid in a graveyard as he frantically called 999. He escaped the ordeal physically unharmed. He said: "It's really affecting me mentally. I've been getting nightmares and flashbacks. I have not slept properly since it happened. I've stopped doing the taxis for now.

"It was my last call of the night. I went to a pub in East Calder where there were about six men standing outside – three of them jumped in my taxi. My car has now been seized by the police to take fingerprints and they've also got my dashcam, which recorded it all."
