Prince Louis made a return to the spotlight at King Charles's Coronation - and his appearance was everything royal fans hoped it would be. The five-year-old stole the show with his animated expressions, enthusiastic waves, and some very big yawns as he joined his family both inside Westminster Abbey and later on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

On his way to the ceremony, Louis was seen waving to fans from inside the carriage and pressing his face against the window. He was then seen yawning widely as he waited outside the Abbey. And once inside, and seated next to his family, he struggled to stay still, and again yawned.

Given his young age, he left mid-way through the service - but was back in time to sing God Save The King, with great gusto.

A short time later, Louis appeared on the Palace balcony, enthusiastically greeting the well-wishers gathered outside, at points waving with both his arms.

The youngest Wales sibling looked on with excitement at the fly-past of the Red Arrows as he stood next to his older sister Charlotte, eight. He was also spotted waving to the crowds in a funny routine and pulling funny faces.

Lip reader Jacqui Press told the Daily Mail that at one point, the little boy had a question for his dad. Louis turned to Prince William and asked, "What's those 'copters?"

She also revealed some of Louis's remarks made in the carriage on the way to the Palace. The expert claimed Louis said: "Lots of people waving," referring to the cheering crowds as they travelled past. A short while after, the sweet royal also exclaimed: "Yaaay King!"

Louis has become known for entertaining royal fans with his reactions during royal celebrations. He was seen letting out a howl and holding his hands over his ears on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Platinum Jubilee fly-past as his great-grandmother, the late Queen, told him what was happening.

Little Louis was also spotted being bounced on the knee of his grandfather, Charles, during the Jubilee pageant and giving his mother Princess Kate a kiss on the cheek and a cuddle.

He stood on his chair, waved his hands in the air, stuck out his tongue, wriggled around and danced during the show last year.

In a personal tweet thanking those who turned out in 2022, William and Kate wrote: "We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…"

It comes after it was revealed that Louis and his siblings have a special nickname for their grandfather, King Charles.

It has been reported that the trio call him "Grandpa Wales" - a nod to his former title of Prince of Wales, which he held before becoming King.

The name appears to have been inspired by the children's late great-grandmother the Queen, who is said to have referred to her own grandfather King George V as Grandpa England.
