The Traitors winner Harry Clark has credited his military training for helping him to clinch the jackpot - because he could think on his feet and grab sleep where he could.
And now that he’s processed the victory - watched by 7 million viewers on Friday - Harry says he is relieved that close pal Mollie Pearce has forgiven him for snatching the £95k from under her nose.
Unlike the others, who found sleep evasive as they tried to work out who was betraying them with lies, army engineer Harry said he took every wink he could get. “As soon as I got back I was conked out. The whole day I’d spend thinking about the plans and trying to execute them so when I got the chance to actually sleep I was just a goner.
“When I got the chance to sleep I’d be flat out straight away. I think that’s a credit to my military training. There are certain situations where you only get a couple of hours’ sleep.”

It is the first time they’ve got together since the show was recorded in September. “It’s so funny listening to everyone else, they were up making notes and making lists,” he said. "Honestly, I was just having a laugh. Everyone says I was four steps ahead - I think I was four steps behind and trying to catch up. Half the time it was ‘what’s going on?’”

Mollie has received criticism for not realising that fellow finalist Jaz Singh would never have voted for another round of banishments if he had been a Traitor. But Mollie has explained that she thought all three of them were Faithful after Andrew’s departure as a Traitor, and didn’t want to betray her pal Harry - even though viewers knew his fate lay completely in her hands.
Despite having a wobble over him - her closest ally in the castle - she eventually rubbed out Harry’s name and replaced it with Jaz’s - sealing his fate along with her own. Harry said he was delighted the 21-year-old disability model, from Bristol, didn’t hold it against him for very long, and now planned to repay her generosity.
“Mollie is OK,” he declared today. “That’s what’s so amazing about her, she forgave me straight away. I wasn’t expecting it and I wouldn’t blame her if she still hated me now. But that’s what you sign up for. I’m hoping to work hard all year and I’m hoping to treat her, in some way at least, from my own money. She knows she deserves everything she has coming to her.”

“I sort of deserved it, let’s be honest. It was a bit of karma, but I didn’t expect it at all. To be put on the spot like that is so nerve-wracking.” He said the drama at the time was so intense he couldn’t remember how he’d responded to Andrew’s attack until he watched it back and was impressed by his own innocent expression. “I was so shocked and instead of saying ‘it’s not me’ I just said ‘well, that was really random’. I was quite proud.” He said everyone who’d taken part, including the five finalists and secret mother and son duo Diane and Ross Carson, were thrilled when the series proved even more popular than last year’s hit debut, which won a Bafta.
“All of us were so worried that we wouldn’t do as well or match it,” Harry said. “Now we’ve watched the whole of the UK enjoy it just as much as us and it’s a relieving feeling. It was so fun acting and knowing I was telling these lies. It’s a massive red flag - I shouldn’t have enjoyed it that much, but I did. It’s a game.” A third run of the hit BBC reality show, made by Studio Lambert, has already been ordered and will be filmed later this year.
