Princess Kate has received stunning jewellery gifts from William and here are the most eye-catching.
The Prince of Wales has bought some amazing gifts for his wife, from Cartier hooped earrings for her 30th birthday to a pair of green amethyst, tourmaline and diamond earrings to celebrate the birth of their daughter Charlotte.
Yet while William may have given some amazing presents, he hasn’t always got it right by his own admission. He once admitted to getting her an awful present that Kate has "never let him forget" after it left her completely baffled.
The prince revealed the bizarre gift during an appearance on former England striker Peter Crouch's podcast on BBC Radio Five Live. In a discussion about presents, Crouch confessed to buying his model wife Abbey Clancy a raincoat three years running for her birthday.
And William admitted: "I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once - she's never let me forget that. That was early on in the courtship that was - I think that sealed the deal. It didn't go well. The 18-carat chain designed by Cartier is believed to have been a 30th birthday present from William. It has pave diamonds and three circles of pink, yellow and white gold. Kate has been seen wearing the jewellery on various occasions including an evening reception in New York, in 2016.
A Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch was given to Kate for their third wedding anniversary in 2014. The timepiece has sapphires and complements the stone in Kate’s engagement ring.
While at university the first ring that William gave Kate was made of gold with pearls and garnets. The pair started going out together in 2001 at the University of St Andrews and the promise ring was a gift as their relationship developed.
Kate was given a pair of green amethyst earrings as a Christmas present from William in 2011. A five carat pear cut amethysts along with a group of four 0.10 carat diamonds are set in 18 carat gold.
A pair of green tourmaline and amethyst stone earrings made by one of her favourite designers, Kiki McDonough, is believed to have been given to Kate by William following the birth of their daughter Charlotte.
Kate wore a personalised gold necklace shortly after her 38th birthday that is thought to be a present from William. It has personalised features with the initials G, C, L for the kids George, Charlotte and Louis.
Kate’s gold wedding band was made from the Royal Family’s collection of Welsh yellow gold and is similar to that worn by the late Queen.
Following the birth of George, William gave Kate a diamond pave set eternity band and she now ears it alongside her gold wedding band and diamond engagement ring.
