Lorraine Kelly was delighted the Masked Singer judges thought she was a much younger lady.
The presenter, revealed as Owl on Saturday, said: “They were guessing women that are the age of my daughter!
“I need to phone up Frankie Bridge and apologise, and Kym Marsh, and Alex Scott, all these wee lassies.” Lorraine, 64, added of judges guessing she was Frankie, 35, Kym, 47, and Alex, 39: “That was nice, that they were guessing people that were an awful lot younger.”
The mum-of-one says she did the ITV show this year to mark four decades in breakfast television. She said: “I wanted to do something outside my comfort zone that would be a challenge, but also really, really good fun.”

Asked to remember a time when she had felt that scared, Lorraine said: “You’d probably have to go back 40 years to my very first presenting job when my stomach was a washing machine and all I could hear in my ears was my heart beating. It was like that.”
But she said The Masked Singer experience was “liberating”, adding of show staff: “They are amazing and so kind, and they tell me things like, ‘Just go for it,’ really trying to boost your confidence.” It was not quite Lorraine’s first experience of public singing.

Last November she was in the Change + Check Choir, whose breast cancer charity single Golden topped the iTunes chart. She said: “Singing is joyful. The world is quite dark right now, so it’s actually quite nice to do something fun.”
Lorraine was amused that none of the Masked Singer judges spotted her. Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora have been guests on her show, as has host Joel Dommett.
And after comedian Mo said he would do the show “in his pants” if Owl was not footballer commentator Alex, Lorraine said: “When you say something on TV, you have to follow it through!”
