You’re unable to make some of Palworld’s coolest gizmos without using Ancient Civilization Parts as a crafting material, so here’s where to find them.
If you're playing Palworld on Xbox or PC and want to build the most useful devices such as the Grappling Gun and Egg Incubator, one of the most crucial crafting materials are Ancient Civilisation Parts. These are far trickier to get a hold of than, say, more common resources like Stone, Wood, or Fiber, but are a must-get for anyone serious about taking on the highest-level Pals or simply wanting to be able to get around the world quicker.
Luckily, lernign how to get Ancient Civilisation Parts becomes more straightforward when you realise they’re tied to specific enemy types. All three are pretty easy to identify when compared to the standard Pal critters you’ll find roaming out and about in the world – they even fall into specific categories.
Simply put, Ancient Civilisation Parts are gained by defeating Alpha Pals, Lucky Pals, and dungeon bosses. All have a good – though not guaranteed – chance to drop this precious crafting item, capable of being farmed to ensure you never run short. Here’s how each enemy type functions:
Dungeons are cave-like areas sprinkled throughout the Palworld map. Initially, you might think there’s not a lot going on inside them, but venture in deep enough you’ll eventually wade through plenty of Pals to meet the inevitable dungeon boss; these bosses are easily identified by the health bar that will appear at the top of the screen. If you’re unsure if you’ll be ready to take on a dungeon’s boss, be sure to take note of the level that displays as you enter.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingAlpha Pals are a much stronger class of Pal that you are likely to find roaming at certain spots out in the open world. The lowest level Alpha Pal comes in at level 11 and is located at Rayne Syndicate’s tower. This will likely be the first Alpha Pal you come across, so be sure to give it a good old thrashing if you want it to drop some Ancient Civilisation Parts. Other Alpha Pals like Gumoss and Killamari (both found in Hillside Cavern) can be similarly farmed for Ancient Civilisation Parts on repeat.
Finally, the last Pal type that has a chance to drop Ancient Civilisation Parts are called Lucky Pals, and they work similarly to Shiny Pokemon from GameFreak’s series. Unfortunately, they are a lot rarer to come by when compared to typical Pals (hence the ‘Lucky’ moniker) and when you do find them, odds are you’ll watch to catch rather than kill them due to the unique skills they behold. You can tell a Lucky Pal has spawned as they give off a slight glow, indicating their rarity. At present, there is no guaranteed way to farm or find Lucky Pals.
The type of items Ancient Civilisation Parts are used to craft might be plentiful, with their effects being mighty enough for the time needed to build them. All of the recipes for these items are unlocked gradually using Ancient Technology Points as you continually level up your character. Here’s the full list of items Ancient Civilisation Parts are needed for, what level you unlock them, and what other crafting items are required too.

As you can tell, Ancient Civilization Parts are needed for a lot of useful items that will make you the ultimate Palworld force to be reckoned with. As you continue to get stronger and battle more challenging Pal types you’ll be gifted with plenty, so be sure to use them. With developer Pocketpair laying out its intention to add the likes of PvP and raid bosses via the Palworld roadmap, it'd be wise to craft as many useful items as possible for the potentially tougher times ahead.
