Palworld's soaring success has been a bit of a surprise for everyone, including the developer. With players flocking to the game, there have been some technical issues to parse through and today's roadmap covers fixes as well as a slate of future content.
Launching into early access last week on PC and Xbox, Palworld and its 'Pokemon with guns' formula has managed to hit on something that's resonated with players en masse. Despite not being available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation platforms – not just yet anyway – and being an Xbox Game Pass freebie as well, it's managed the impressive feat of selling 6million copies in the first six days.
The massive influx of players has, as you'd expect, caused a few teething issues for the developer, Pocketpair, who took to Twitter to share its plans for shoring up the stability of the game, as well as sharing the Palworld roadmap which includes a rundown of future updates. Addressing the niggles so far, Pocketpair said, "sales have far exceeded the development team's expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges.
"We will prioritize improving this issue first, and then move on to implementing new in-game features."
In terms of new content on the horizon, the Palworld roadmap mentions the introduction of PVP, Raid Bosses in the end-game, Steam and Xbox crossplay, and eventually, new islands, Pals, bosses and technology. On that note, be sure to check out our guide on how to get Palworld Ancient Technology Points as the items you can unlock with them (like the Grappling Gun) are key to making some decent headway in-game.
