A restaurant has been praised for tracking down two men accused of running off without paying a £120 bill.
The owners of Mommy Thai in Leeds claim that one of the men had to phone his mum to settle up after they were found in a nearby bar. The pair had ordered food and drinks from the Leeds restaurant before allegedly 'dining and dashing'.
After eating their meals, the young men are accused of walking out of the restaurant without paying on 7 January. The small family business is in the city centre amongst an array of bars.
The furious owner sent staff out on a hunt to find the men. After almost half an hour of searching, staff found the pair enjoying a drink in a Revolution de Cuba bar nearby. They took a snap of the guilty-looking pair after asking them to settle up. However, according to the restaurant, the men initially refused.

Fellow diners were horrified by the men’s alleged behaviour but praised the staff. Martin Nixon said: “I would have loved to hear the conversation to his mum asking for money." Another said: "I run a small restaurant myself I would rather them say I can't afford the bill and be amicable. I've had this happen to me as well.”
Claudio Con said "good work" while another diner, called Dom, said: "Well done and huge respect to you all."
A spokesperson for Mommy Thai said: ”There is frustration because it happens all the time. It was really surprising and great to see so many people understand the frustrations. My mum is a legend so it is great that people are calling her that, she’s worked incredibly hard for what we have. We are one of the cheapest places you can go for food in town.
“The lunch deal that we have is the staple that created a buzz around the restaurant since it opened its doors.“
