There's nothing worse than being disturbed on your holiday.
Whether it's a work email ignoring your Out of Office or more family drama; many of us saviour our precious away time with family and don't want to be hassled. But, one woman's interactions with the host of her accommodation has dampened the holiday spirit - and sparked debate online.
The mum booked the holiday through the rental company Airbnb, which has become increasingly popular over recent years. The company allows holidaymakers to find unique accommodation rather than staying in a characterless hotel, such as high-rise apartments in Manhattan to rustic lodges in the Lake District.
Taking to Mumsnet, the anonymous mum explained that she had rented a cottage out for a week from a 'lovely, very kind woman'. However, the host 'keeps wanting' to come over to the property and meet her children.
"I’ve been here two days and she has texted me every single day since," the post reads. "I have now agreed to Wednesday evening." Despite agreeing for the host to come around, the parent says the communication 'feels full on' and has asked users whether the behaviour is normal or not.

.Many users took the comments section to share their thoughts, branding the host's messages as 'really weird'. Some even suggested the woman cancel the meeting via text message and make it clear she shouldn't come around.
"She sounds lonely and [has] too much time on her hands - just find an excuse," one person wrote. Another commented: "Yes, it's odd. She shouldn't expect you to have to spend part of your precious holiday with her." While a third added: "I'd hate that. It would make me want to go home! I wouldn't appreciate the texts, let alone the badgering to meet your kids."
However, some users say the host is probably worrying about the condition of the accommodation and just wants reassurance nothing has been damaged. "Is it a new Airbnb for her?" one user asked. "She might be fretting about the property."
