Michelle Keegan 'set for huge LA move' after Fool Me Once Netflix success

Michelle Keegan has been heavily topped for Hollywood following the massive success of Netflix drama Fool Me Once.

The 36-year-old beauty stars alongside legendary Joanna Lumley in the worldwide hit thriller and her performance could elevate her into a whole new stratosphere, it has been claimed. The drama-series, based on the novel by Harlan Coben, centres around murder, crime and betrayal and the English star has earned rave reviews around the globe.

So much so that one industry expert thinks LA will come calling - and it won't be long until the phone starts ringing with incredible offers. Michelle, who last year complete her mega mansion with husband Mark Wright, has put down roots in Essex after the Manchester girl moved down south.

But according to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, it’s a matter of time before the offer of something huge rolls in from across the Atlantic. He told OK! Magazine: “It’s really given Michelle a platform to make her a major star. All eyes are on her at the moment because Netflix is watched by millions of people globally and her series is number one here and in the US. She looks every inch the Hollywood leading lady and she has star quality.”

“When some actors leave soaps, they go off into the wilderness but Michelle hasn’t done that,” Nick added. “She’s shown she’s very versatile. She can do drama or a Bridgerton-type show or comedy. It’s a magical formula. She’s also got a following of people who really like her as an actress but also as a person off-screen and a style icon, too. As a Hollywood producer or director, you want somebody who’s the whole package – and that’s Michelle."

The actress, who first found fame when she joined Coronation Street playing troubled Tina McIntyre, could be a wanted girl very soon. According to sources, Michelle is unique as her success following the Netflix hit has shown that stars do not have to be "plumb voiced" in order garner an international audience.

"Michelle offers something different, but with all the charm, glamour and sex appeal that makes her one of Britain’s most exciting acting exports. America is seen as a market where they believe she could make the greatest impact," an insider told The Sun. "With so many rival streamers eyeing Michelle up now, it’s a no-brainer for Netflix to sign her.

"But they’re likely to have to offer her a six-figure sum to keep her for multiple projects." On the back of Fool Me Once, Michelle has reportedly been inundated by movie scripts as film big wigs fight it out among themselves to make her the latest British actress to appear on the silver screen.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show last week, she revealed her amazement over the success of the show. She said: 'It's madness that it's number one all over the world. I was always a huge fan of Harlan Coben books so when I got the call it was 'Yes, absolutely,' and I grabbed it with both hands." In 2018, the author signed a five-year deal with Netflix, which allowed the streaming platform to adapt 14 of his novels.
