Molly Smith and Callum Jones were reunited last night in a shock twist during the Love Island All-Stars' debut.
Ex-scaffolder Callum, 27, and 30-year-old Molly appeared as bombshells in the new series after 12 former Islanders had already settled into the reality show. When it came to Callum having to decide on which girl to couple up with, in walked his ex at the last minute, leaving the episode on a cliffhanger.
It appeared neither of them knew they were both returning to the ITV show for a second shot at finding love, however some viewers have claimed it was 'rigged,' with fans speculating they are still an item. Here, we take a look at what happened during their separation after three years together...
Their love story began in Love Island's first winter edition in 2020 with Casa Amor. Despite Mancunian Callum being loved up with Shaughna Phillips, his head was turned and he brought blonde beauty Molly back to the main villa.
While it was a devastating blow for Shaughna, the pair stayed together for the remainder of their time on the series before brutally being dumped by their fellow islanders. Their romance blossomed outside of the reality show too, and the pair moved into a four-bedroom Manchester city centre apartment together.
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelThe reality star explained after their exit: "Yeah, we have [been one of the couples to last outside of the villa]. We've proven a lot of people wrong. A lot of people thought I was a traitor or whatever they want to call it, but yeah. Everything is going well. I mean, the show was worth it."
They had plans to have their own family one day, and got two dogs together. Callum previously told MailOnline: "We are perfect. We've got two dogs so we've got a proper little family going, it's lovely.
Speaking about marriage and kids, he added: "There is other things we want to focus on at the minute but obviously in the future it's definitely something we both want together. We've just not really decided when. We're just enjoying things that we've got at the minute and then family and marriage will eventually come into it."
However after three years together, they broke up in September 2023. Callum moved out of their shared home and took their pug, Winnie, with him. Meanwhile Nelly the Pomeranian stayed with Molly. Insiders insisted they were going to remain friends despite their bitter end.
According to a source, the couple split because of Molly's desire to get engaged, which never happened. A source at the time told The Sun: "It's really sad as they were a sweet couple together but it's over - and has been for a few weeks. They're trying to stay friends - they were together for over three years - but it's difficult. I think in the end, Molly wanted to get engaged and that didn't happen.
"Everyone was really surprised when they split as they were perfectly matched. He's now moved out of the home they shared and they’ve split custody of their two dogs."
