Monarch: Legacy of Monsters fans have said they had “goosebumps” watching the finale of the Godzilla spin-off. The epic final episode of Apple TV+’s monster series dropped on Friday (January 12), bringing to a close the latest chapter of the MonsterVerse franchise.

The 10-part series – from Legendary Pictures’ TV arm – forms part of the monster franchise that began with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla and is set to continue with the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Legacy of Monsters picks up after the events of the 2014 blockbuster which saw a thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that devastated San Francisco and revealed to the world that monsters are real.

The dramatic saga spans three generations and several continents tracking two siblings who follow in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organisation known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and down a rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (Kurt and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and more than half a century later when Monarch is threatened by what he knows.
