Brides should be granted all the attention on their wedding day, but one woman didn't even get to walk down the aisle before she was cruelly trolled online.

The bride-to-be shared pictures of her engagement ring on social media after her partner popped the question, and although she expected people to be happy for her, she was horrified when they began to make negative comments instead. But social media users weren't bothered about the woman's actual engagement news or her impressive diamond ring, as they were busy slating something else entirely - her nails. Sadly, the woman was trolled over her manicure, with one cruel social media user saying: "It looks like the nail is running away!"

The woman was criticised for her grown-out pink and gold-tipped acrylics after the images were shared in several shaming Facebook groups back in 2019. Another person said: "Cross posting [this] from That's It, I'm Nail Shaming, because that ring is as awful as whatever the hell is happening with her nails."

"I couldn't even focus on the ring after seeing the nails," another added. A third said: "I'm not normally speechless when I look at these kinda photos but damn … I'm 100% speechless."

Others said they were "confused" by the image, as two of the woman's nails appeared to have grown much more quickly than the others. "Looks like the nail is trying to run away from the ring," one user added. Another wrote: "I'm so confused … how did that ring finger nail grow so much faster?"

One person even suggested the images couldn't possibly be 'real' because the manicure was so bad. "Surely this ain't real, if her nails grew out that quick they’d be chipped to death," they said.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl has caused a rift in her family after she refused to wear a wig at her sister's wedding. The 17-year-old girl with alopecia lost her hair at 10 years old and says she feels comfortable in her body and doesn't feel the need to cover her bald head.

However, her family accused her of trying to upstage the bride on her big day. "She told me I'm being unreasonable because it's such a small thing to do for her wedding day and walked off" she said. Reddit users were quick to share their support and praised the teenager for being brave and bold enough to 'be herself.'
